My dad has taught me so many lessons I can't even list them all. Some of my favorite and most memorable lessons from him are these though:
-Hard work/Work Ethic
-Being able to talk to anyone
-Always stay positive and having a smile on your face
-Trusting in the Lord no matter what the situation or circumstance is
-Love life to the fullest
-Your family will always be your best and truest friends
-The Gospel is one of the most important things in life
There are many more lessons and things I could list about my father but that would take me years to do. He has taught me more than I could ever imagine to teach my children when that day comes and I just hope I can someday be as good of a parent as my father was to me.
Dad and I definitely had our struggles but no matter what he never left my side. He was always there to help me through my struggles, mistakes, and confused times. Dad was always by my side helping me through in a way that I would learn from the situation so that it wouldn't happen again. He never took my burden from me but always made it a learning situation and for that I am extremely grateful to him.
Through these last 7 months of my father having stage 3 Lung Cancer I have learned more and noticed more about him than I ever could have imagined. I lay awake at night just thinking about all the wonderful stories he has shared with us children and think about the lessons that he has taught us. I have met countless people through my father whether he was there to introduce me to them or they happened to hear my last name and connect me to the wonderful David Teichert. It seems that I can't go anywhere without someone knowing and loving my father. I met friends of my dads at Music Festivals, Track Meets, High School Summer Institute, and even EFY's.
I am so proud to be able to call David Teichert my father. I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful lessons he has taught me and the stories he has shared with me that someday I will be able to share with my children about their grandfather. I love my dad more than words can describe and am so grateful to have such an amazing man, father, and best friend in my life.
Thank you Dad for always being my number 1 man :) I love you!
